Speaker Thom Tillis, who pushed Amendment One through the legislature, told an inconvenient truth for his side yesterday.
Tillis, a leading proponent of Amendment One, admitted that the constitutional rewrite flies in the face of our future, acknowledging that the generation to come is adamantly opposed to the harms of Amendment One and he wants them to clean up the mess it creates.
Furthermore, Speaker Tillis indicated that Amendment One would barely pass in the present.
He told the truth about the future of this state — now it’s our turn to turn a narrowly-predicted victory for Amendment One into a defeat for this harmful amendment.
