Ask Candidates to Publicly Oppose Amendment One

With the departure of Governor Bev Perdue from the 2012 North Carolina gubernatorial race, many candidates are likely to enter the race on both sides of the aisle. Together, we can make sure that they place the defeat of Amendment One, and the protection of all North Carolina families and children, at the top of their agendas on May 8 and beyond.

Fairness and justice make up the very fabric of our state. In North Carolina, we value all citizens and families of all types. An amendment that would hurt families and take rights away from many of our great citizens is not something that North Carolinians want to see written into their constitution.

Ask both current and potential leaders of our state to take a public stance against Amendment One. Let them know that the defeat of the amendment is at the top of your priority list, and it should be at the top of theirs too.

CALL TO ACTION:

I, a voter of North Carolina, hereby call upon all of our political leaders, especially those who seek to lead our entire state, to oppose Amendment One and the harms that it would bring to North Carolina families and children.
